What Could an iVario Do in Your Kitchen?
Think about the equipment you’re currently using for boiling, frying, deep-frying and other pan-based cooking.
The attraction of an iVario is that one multifunctional cooking system can take on a number of those jobs. That can be particularly useful where kitchen space is valuable, but also where greater flexibility or higher-volume production is the priority.
The question isn’t necessarily “Do I need another piece of equipment?” but rather “How many jobs could I use it for?”
Which Size Makes Sense?
You don’t necessarily need the biggest iVario.
The 2-XS gives you two independently usable 17 litre pans, making it useful for smaller batches or preparing different foods simultaneously.
The Pro 2-S increases this to two 25 litre pans and our machine also has the pressure cooking option.
For larger batches, the Pro L provides a single 100 litre pan, while the Pro XL takes capacity up to 150 litres.
It’s quite a jump from 2 × 17 litres to 150 litres, which means there’s a genuine choice depending on the scale and style of your operation.
What About the Extras?
The specification matters too, and these four machines aren’t all equipped in the same way.
Pressure cooking is fitted to our Pro 2-S, Pro L and Pro XL. For suitable foods such as stocks, stews, pulses and braised dishes, Rational states that pressure cooking can reduce cooking times by up to 30%.
A hand shower is included with the 2-XS, Pro 2-S and Pro L, providing a convenient water supply directly at the appliance – useful when filling the pan or rinsing it down.
The Pro L comes with a substructure, providing the supporting base for the appliance, while our Pro XL has storage space, giving you useful space beneath the cooking system.
Why Graded?
Quite simply, price.
A new Rational iVario can represent a considerable investment. Our graded machines start at £6,199 + VAT, opening up the possibility of an iVario to kitchens that may previously have ruled one out on cost.
And because we have four different models available, you can choose according to the capacity and functionality you actually need.
Could One Work for You?
Choosing between them comes down to your kitchen: the food you prepare, your typical batch sizes, available space, services and whether pressure cooking would genuinely benefit your operation.
If you’ve looked at an iVario before and thought “I’d love one, but not at that price”, it may be worth looking again.
Contact Anglia Catering Equipment Ltd and tell us what you’re cooking and the quantities you’re producing. We can talk you through the four graded iVario models currently available.
