What Does “Graded” Actually Mean?

Graded doesn’t mean second-hand, and it doesn’t mean faulty. We mark an item as graded for a specific, stated reason — a scuff on the casing, a dent from transit, or packaging that’s seen better days. Some units are ex-display; others are customer returns that were never used. Because we document the reason on the product page, there’s nothing to guess at before you buy.

Is Graded Catering Equipment Reliable?

Yes. Every graded item is fully tested before it’s listed. The issue is cosmetic — a mark, a dent, damaged packaging — never functional. A graded fridge cools the same as a new one from the same range, and a graded oven cooks at the same temperature.

The one real difference is warranty: graded stock carries a 12-month parts-only warranty, against the fuller parts-and-labour cover on new equipment. So it’s worth checking before you buy.

Graded vs Reconditioned vs Clearance — What’s the Difference?

Three terms, three different things at Anglia Catering Equipment.

Graded — new, unused equipment with a cosmetic issue. Never been in service.

Reconditioned — used equipment that our engineers have restored and tested. Because we handle this in-house, reconditioned items carry a 30-day return window for extra piece of mind.

Clearance — end-of-line or last-of-stock equipment, moved on to make way for newer ranges. Nothing to do with condition.

Since the warranty and condition differ across all three, check the listing rather than assuming from the price.

Delivery

Delivery runs on the same Fast Free UK Mainland Delivery service as the rest of the site, though the usual exceptions apply for Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and the Islands.
