A Proper Wine Cooler for a Lot Less
A Proper Wine Cooler for a Lot Less — The Graded Blizzard WD400.
A well-stocked wine cooler does two things at once. It keeps your bottles at the right temperature. It sells wine for you — because customers who can see a beautifully presented, well-chilled selection buy more of it.
The Blizzard WD400 does both very well. Right now, we have a graded unit available at £1,049 + VAT.
What’s In the Cabinet?
81 bottles. Four-sided triple-glazed glass so customers — and staff — can see the full range from any angle. Nine adjustable chrome shelves. Internal LED lighting. Castors with brakes for easy positioning and cleaning. A digital controller with temperature display.
It’s a single zone unit. The temperature range runs from +5°C to +18°C, covering everything from sparkling wine through to lighter reds. Set it to suit your most-used wines and serve accordingly.
Blizzard builds reliable, well-specified commercial refrigeration. The WD400 is no exception.
What Should You Be Putting In It?
81 bottles is a serious amount of range. Here’s how to think about temperatures:
Sparkling — Prosecco, Cava, and Champagne all need a proper chill. Serve at around 6–8°C for the best fizz and flavour. The WD400 handles this comfortably at the lower end of its range.
Whites and Rosé — Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Provence rosé all serve best at around 8–12°C. Crisp, aromatic, and exactly what customers expect when they order a chilled white or glass of rosé.
Lighter Reds — Pinot Noir and Beaujolais Nouveau benefit from a slight chill at around 14–16°C. Well within the WD400’s range, and a detail that impresses wine-savvy customers.
Fuller Reds — Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Shiraz are better served closer to room temperature. Keep those on the bar rather than in the cooler, and let the WD400 focus on what it does best.
Why Graded?
The WD400 is detailed as cosmetic marks only, no effect on performance. It carries a 1 year parts warranty and is ready to go.
It’s a cabinet that stands — or rolls — wherever you need it, keeps wine cold all day, and looks good doing it. Graded makes a lot of sense. Quality Blizzard kit at a significantly reduced price — and the saving goes straight back into your wine list.
The Bottom Line
