Choosing the Right Hose

Connection size: match the appliance gas inlet (e.g. 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″).
Length: long enough to pull out for cleaning without strain, but not so long it kinks or snags.
Flow requirement: pick the bore/size to suit the appliance gas rate (kW) and local pipe sizing.

What materials are used in the hose?

Dormont gas hoses are made from 304 stainless steel and covered with a dipped PVC coating for added protection and durability.

Why is dipped PVC coating better than others?

Dormont’s dipped PVC coating provides a permanent, wrinkle-free surface that is heat and crack-resistant. This smooth finish prevents dirt and debris from lodging, makes cleaning easier, and improves hygiene. It also increases the service life of the hose and will not hold a flame in the event of a fire.

What is the difference between an unbraided and braided gas hose?

Braided hoses feature an extra protective layer between the steel tube and the outer covering. This braiding increases durability, tensile strength, and the service life of the hose.

What does the hose come supplied with?

Each Dormont gas hose is supplied with a Quick Disconnect coupling and a Straight Restrainer Cable with mounting hardware.

What is a Quick Disconnect coupling?

Quick Disconnect couplings are flared-end mechanical fittings supplied as standard with Dormont hoses. They allow easy connection and disconnection, and their flat-face design prevents dirt ingress.

What is the BSI Kitemark?
