Ice. You’re Going to Need More of It.

Summer changes the maths completely. Ice makers are refrigeration units working against ambient heat. As kitchen temperatures climb through July and August, production drops. The machine that was adequate in February can start to feel less so by the time the season hits its stride.

We’ve just added the Prodis bright cube range to the site — three undercounter models worth a look if you’re thinking about capacity now we’re in summer.

Prodis are worth knowing about if you don’t already. They make well-specified machines at sensible prices. The bright cube range is a strong entry into the premium ice market and we’ve got three models on — the PB30A, PB40A and PB50A — covering outputs from 28kg up to 46kg per 24 hours, all in undercounter footprints designed for built-in bar installation.

The ice itself is the point. All three use a spray production system, which is what separates bright cube from standard cube. Water is misted over a chilled evaporator in thin layers, pushing air and impurities out as it freezes. The result is a dense, slow-melting cube that stays clear in the glass. That matters in a cocktail bar. It matters anywhere premium spirits are being served.

All three models come with Bluetooth connectivity and My Ice App integration. Operators can monitor production and run diagnostics remotely. The sliding bin door retracts into the unit on each model, keeping the service area clear. Frontal ventilation on the PB50A means it sits flush within bar cabinetry — no gaps, no workarounds.
