Choosing the Right LPG Gas Fryer for Your Business
An LPG gas fryer offers the flexibility to operate anywhere without a mains gas connection. Countertop vs Freestanding LPG Fryers
Countertop models (single or twin tank) suit mobile catering where space is limited. They typically use 8-23L tanks and connect to standard 13kg propane cylinders. Freestanding fryers with larger 30-41L tanks are ideal for higher-volume operations like festival catering or busy food trucks.
Installation and Safety Requirements
All LPG gas fryers must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer with LPG qualifications. Unlike natural gas, LPG requires specific pressure regulators and flexible hoses designed for propane or butane. Never attempt DIY installation — it’s illegal and dangerous.
Check your fryer’s gas type compatibility. Most models run on propane, but some support butane or dual-fuel. Always match the regulator to your cylinder type. We provide full installation manuals with every purchase.
Running Costs: LPG vs Natural Gas
LPG costs approximately 7-10p per kWh vs 3-4p for natural gas. For a busy fryer running 6 hours daily, expect £15-25 per week in propane costs. However, the portability often outweighs the price difference — you can set up anywhere without infrastructure.
Single tank models use less gas during slow periods. Twin tank fryers let you fry different products simultaneously, increasing efficiency during peak hours.
